We originally formed LKR in 1998 to release Dyed Emotions' debut album, "Aqua Pura". A listing in a national magazine led to a lot of inquiries about the label, and we dismissed them because between work and families and being miniature rockstars, we didn't think we'd have the time to take on any additional projects.
As a result, when we weren't mailing out more copies of the album or arranging appearences on compilations, the label just sat there gathering dust ...

With the 2007 release of Dyed Emotions' "Art of Regret" , LKR got dusted off and put to use again. With our lives more settled, a few years in the industry under our belts, and a renewed desire to take over the world, we realised that we're in a better position to help out other artists, working at the kind of thing we love to do ...
During our renewed excitement, we realised there'd never been a proper "Lost Key Records" website. This is our humble first attempt ...
Dyed Emotions' new album: "Art Of Regret"
We're selling our releases directly through this site in addition to the bigger online retailers and local indie stores because though we like the accessibility of the retailers, selling to you directly from the site allows us to pass on more of the income to the artist.
The website also gives us the platform to solicit artists. While we're not yet in the position to put out full albums by other artists, we are able to lend our design skills to those who need them ... and we're also accepting CDs from bands who would like to participate in some upcoming compilation releases.
If you're interested, click the 'A&R/Contact" and "Projects" buttons for more information.

We'd also like to network a little more with photographers, animators, and film artists. In exchange for your contribution to our projects, we can offer you a little more exposure, in most instances commercial product including your work that looks great in portfolios.
Details about current opportunities will be listed under "Contests" and sometimes under "Projects" on this site.

Though you get a better deal when you buy the actual CD, we've included a 'downloads' page for people who only want to download a couple tracks or want tracks that are not available elsewhere. Sometimes you can download other things from this page too ...

Enjoy the music! - LKR
